Katie + Denali held their wedding on a beautiful day in mid-October at Iris Aisle. The fall weather was a perfect mix of warmth and crisp autumn air, and the leaves were still golden on the trees.

Katie and her mom (who was also her florist!) had been following along with our progress here at Iris Aisle from the very beginning when we first dreamt up the idea to have a venue in this space, and reached out as soon as we opened our books for the season. We were delighted to find out that they wanted to use our space a little differently than they’d seen previously - they wanted to celebrate their ceremony outside of the Conservatory, in the clearing in our cedar tree forest.

This clearing is a popular spot for wedding party photos, first looks, and more, so we were very excited to see a full-size ceremony come to life in this area too! The cedar trees made a perfect backdrop for Katie & Denali to say their vows with their favorite people - only family and close friends - gathered around under the trees. The warm golden-hour sunlight was shining through the branches as they shared their first kiss.

Katie and Denali’s friends and family enjoyed a cocktail hour in the Conservatory while we snuck away to nearby Winterset City Park and Holliwell Bridge (one of the beautiful and historic covered bridges of Madison County) for some couples photos. When we returned for dinner, the greenhouse looked beautiful with our farm tables set up for everyone to enjoy the amazing taco bar. It was a wonderful way to gather everyone together for dinner and some celebratory toasts. It all felt like magic. ✨
