Katie + Angel
We began the New Year with one of the sweetest elopements—a gentle omen, I believe, for the love stories yet to unfold in the seasons ahead. It was a quiet, wintry Wednesday evening, with snow still clinging to the earth, as if nature itself had set the stage just for Katie and Angel.
Katie spent the late afternoon preparing in the warmth of our Couple’s Cabin, nestled near the Conservatory. She slipped into a gown that was both simple and regal, a flowing princess-style dress complemented by a long veil and later a soft fur shaw—an ethereal choice for a winter wedding. After a tender first look with her father, the time had come.
The grand front doors swung open, revealing Katie and her father framed against the fading winter light. The hush that fell over the room was met with the quiet awe in Angel’s eyes as he watched his love walk toward him. Hand in hand, they stood before Katie’s aunt, who officiated their ceremony with warmth and reverence. They read their own vows—words that carried us through the story of their love, from its first spark to the deep-rooted devotion that led them here.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the sun began its slow descent. Though January is often a season of stillness, Katie had hoped for a golden farewell to their wedding day, and the sky did not disappoint. We wandered the grounds beneath a winter sunset, its warm glow spilling over them like a quiet blessing. Despite the crisp air, their joy radiated warmth, their laughter curling into the evening like smoke from a fire.
There is something sacred about witnessing love in its truest form—the kind that holds steady through every season, through cold winds and golden light alike. I feel honored to witness each love story that unfolds within these walls.
