Kendra + James

A beautiful September weekend spent celebrating Kendra and James—a wedding filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that lingers in the air like the golden light of late summer.

Excitement hummed through the cabin as I stepped inside to find Kendra getting ready, surrounded by her closest friends and family. Her daughters were right there with her, adding to the magic of the moment—her oldest carefully applying makeup in the same mirror as her mother, while her youngest, all dressed in white, crawled across the floor in the sweetest display of innocence and joy.

As the final touches were placed, Kendra slipped into her gown, radiant and ready. But before stepping into the next chapter, she paused for a moment of gratitude—gifting her bridesmaids delicate perfume bottles, her daughter a special ring, her mother a stunning bracelet, and James’ mother a token of appreciation that spoke to the deep intertwining of two families becoming one.

Meanwhile, James prepared in our newest cabin, surrounded by his best friends and family. The pace was slower, the getting ready much quicker than the women’s, but the excitement was just as palpable. Before the ceremony, Kendra and James exchanged letters—private words meant only for each other, filled with love, memories, and promises for the life ahead.

As guests took their seats, the wedding party made their way down the stone path. A hush fell over the crowd as anticipation built. Then, all eyes turned toward Kendra, walking arm in arm with her father, the moment unfolding like something from a dream.

After their heartfelt ceremony, we wandered the grounds, capturing family portraits, quiet newlywed moments, and the joy that danced between them. As the sun dipped lower, casting a golden glow across the landscape, Kendra and James made their grand entrance into the outdoor reception. Love poured from every corner, woven into the laughter, the cheers, and the heartfelt toasts from family and friends.

With glasses raised, they celebrated. They cut into an adorable heart-shaped cake, twirled into their first dance, and ended the night beneath the glass ceiling of the Conservatory, dancing beneath the stars.

Instead of rushing away, they stayed—lingering in the magic of it all, waking the next morning as newlyweds with time to breathe, to soak it in, to begin their journey at their own unhurried pace.

A perfect late-summer wedding, one we’ll never forget.
